Learning starts at home
Not every young person can travel, and learning shouldn't depend on it. In Harghita county we use sport, workshops and community events to bring young people from different communities together.

Topics for our local workshops
The same things young people tell us they miss at school, and that our exchanges are built around.
Public speaking
Saying what you think, clearly and calmly, in front of other people.
Entrepreneurship
Turning an idea into your own work, in a region where many jobs are seasonal.
Mental health
Talking openly about stress, motivation and looking after yourself.
Intercultural learning
Getting to know the other communities living right next to you.
Presenting yourself
CVs, interviews and showing what you're good at.
Sport
Teamwork and fair play, with people you might not meet otherwise.
United by Football
Our first local activity was an indoor football championship, organised together with Asociația Cloud Five. Six teams and about 30 young people came from Gheorgheni, Toplița, Lăzarea, Voșlăbeni, Suseni, Lacu Roșu and Ditrău, and from the different ethnic communities that live in our area.
The idea was simple: sport is a language everyone speaks. The championship was about teamwork, fair play and respect, and about getting past the barriers that can keep communities apart. A small, practical step towards more trust between young people from Gheorgheni and the towns around it.
